The trails are punctuated by shelters, laid-out viewpoints, dry toilets and interpretation panels. The trailhead is behind the welcome building.

Fishing for ouananiche

A natural jewel of the region, the Rivière aux Saumons is known for fly fishing for ouananiche, a species emblematic of Lac Saint-Jean.

The activity is subject to quota and is practised on the Ashuapmushuan, Métabetchouane, Mistassini and aux Saumons rivers, in set sectors and periods.

Anglers must obtain a fly-fishing authorisation for ouananiche on the Lac Saint-Jean rivers, issued following a pre-season draw.
